It seems Google will hop onto a new manufacturer for another Nexus device. The latest rumor comes via Mobile-Review who claims that the Android maker has teamed up with LG to launch a Nexus tablet based on Honeycomb reference design. There are no other details to go with this piece of info other than both the parties are looking a mid-summer or fall release.
As you know, Nexus devices are the first ones to receive Android OS updates from Google followed by devices produced by other manufacturers.
On a related note, Google allegedly prevents OEMs to upgrade their 2.x devices to 3.x due to a licensing agreement. Affected devices are Galaxy Tab, which is already on sale and HTC’s upcoming Flyer that was supposed to come with Android 2.3 initially with Android 3.0 due later this year. However, Flyer is now rumored to launch with Honeycomb OS in May.
