Chances are you might not know Umeox but this Chinese ODM revealed a unique solar-powered Android phone at the MWC. Dubbed as Apollo, the Android OS running device comes in a rugged shell to give an extra layer of protection as well as solar panel at the back to charge phone’s battery via sunlight.
Although the Android OS version is unconfirmed, Apollo packs in some decent hardware to give other entry-level smartphones a run for their money. The phone will come with Mediatek’s MTK6516 (Q2 2011) or MTK6573 (Q3 2011) chip and feature 3G support, 3.2-inch TFT display (320×480), 1GB internal memory, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, 3MP camera, microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB, 3.5mm audio jack and 1300mAh battery.
