Google announced its Q4 2010 results yesterday and although it turned out to be pretty well, the search giant dropped a bomb by announcing executive management changes. Google’s decision to shuffle positions is to “streamline decision making and create clearer lines of responsibility and accountability at the top of the company.”
Eric Schmidt, current CEO of Google will now assume the role of Executive Chairman at Google. He’ll be responsible on deals, partnerships, customers and broader business relationships, government outreach, technology thought leadership and will continue to act as an advisor to Larry and Sergey.
Larry Page will be the new Google CEO to run Google’s day-to-day operations. He’ll assume the position from April 4.
Finally, Sergey Brin will be titled as Co-Founder and will look into strategic projects.
