LG Electronics has put its plan to launch an Android-based tablet on hold. The reason for the delay is that LG reckons that the current Android version, 2.2 or Froyo, is no optimized to work on a tablet device.
“We plan to introduce a tablet that runs on the most reliable Android version…We are in talks with Google to decide on the most suitable version for our tablet and that is not Froyo 2.2,” said an LG official.
We’re not sure what version will be zeroed in as the “suitable version” for their tablet but it does seem they’re trying to play a wait-and-watch game so as to gauge user reactions related to Android tablets like Dell’s Streak or to-be-launched Samsung’s Galaxy Tab.
