India will get access to Blackberry emails

Research in Motion will allow Indian security agencies to snoop in Blackberry users’ emails. RIM succumbed to the government’s pressure on account of national security and has offered to share decryption codes to pry in corporate emails whereas consumer emails will be shared within 15 days.

However, email is not the only thing the government will be able to take a peek into. RIM is developing a new tool, which after completion will allow to monitor chat logs as well.

This news comes after RIM issued a statement assuring its customers that their data is secure.
