Microsoft may not launch its KIN handsets in Asia. Lena Goh, spokeswoman for Microsoft Singapore confirmed that they’re not in talks with any of the Asian operators. In fact, the Kin phones announced yesterday are bound by exclusive agreements with Verizon and Vodafone.
However, PCWorld notes that if KIN were to come to Asia, Vodafone could play a major role. Vodafone has stake in many operators in Asia and even operates in India, which means the distribution agreement could probably be applicable for Asian countries as well.
Microsoft unveiled KIN One and KIN Two phones yesterday and Verizon will launch it in US in May while Vodafone will launch it in Italy, Germany, UK and other European countries in autumn.
