Google’s Nexus One is one the best Android devices money can buy but it seems Indians won’t be able to get hold of it. Instead, India may get a lowered down Nexus One at a reduced price. CNBC-TV18’s host who spoke with Shailesh Rao, Managing Director, Google India and Media & Platforms tweeted that the US variant won’t come to India but a stripped down and lower priced Nexus One is in the offing.
This, if true could indicate Google’s strategy for India as well as other developing markets where consumers tend to be price sensitive.
The Nexus One is currently being sold in U.S. for $179 on contract with T-Mobile or $529 for unlocked. It features a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5MP camera, Android 2.1, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and more.
