My nephew plays happily on his Vtech notebook but as he grows up, he’ll demand for something real, which is why Disney and Asus have announced Netpal, a real netbook for such kids. Apart from the Disney logo on the display lid, there are few other features that makes it apt for kids. It has desktop themes of Disney movies or characters, a Magic Desktop, Radio Disney widget and full parental control to make sure the child does not mail or surf any unapproved websites.
Under the hood, the 8.9-incher comes with an unspecified Atom processor, Wi-Fi, 16GB SSD or 160GB HDD and runs Windows XP.
The Netpal will be available from July for $350 in Magic Blue and Princess Pink at Amazon.com and Toys R Us.
