Trash your hopes for a Mac OS X netbook because Mac clone maker, Psystar has filed for bankruptcy. The documents were filed on May 21 in Florida and are seeking for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. While there is every reason to believe that they succumbed to Apple’s courtroom pressure, their filing reveals they are closing the business due to the weak economy. Apparently, they owe more than $88,000 to their lawyers in the Apple case, DHL to the tune of $13,000 and IRS almost $12,000.
There is a hearing on June 5 which will reveal all the Psystar’s creditors, possibly revealing few big names backing the guerilla outfit.
