While a basic consumer in India is still struggling to get over 2Mbps, Japanese residents will soon be able to upload and download at a speed of up to 1Gbps. This is totally insane and the insanity will be provided by a Japanese company, KDDI Corp. The major beneficiaries of this service will be the consumers in east Japan as till now the highest speed they used to get was 100Mbps.
KDDI will be providing the fiber-optic services starting from October 1 at a price of 5,985 Yen ($56).
