Dell unveiled the Latitude range aimed at business class with E4200, E4300, E6400, E6500, E5400, E500 and E6400ATG. To further segregate these laptops, the first two comes under the ultra-portable class while the next four under the conventional ones and the last coming under the semi-rugged category. Starting with E4200, it is a 12.1-inch notebook weighing in just 2.2 pounds which is Dell’s lightest laptop till date. Another ultra-portable E4300 adds an extra 1.1 pounds to give you an extra inch of screen and a bit more performance.
Latitudes E6400 and E6500 sport a 14.1-inch and 15.4-inch display respectively and start from $1,139 and $1,169. The E6400 can pull off up to 19 hours [PDF] on a 9-cell battery from a single charge and with some help from a battery slice. The E5xxx series are priced a bit lower bearing the same screen size of the E6xxx Latitudes.
Lastly, the E6400ATG is a rugged variant of the original E6400 which complies with military 810F standards.
The Precision line saw three additions by way of M6400 (17-inch), M4400 (15.4-inch) and M2400 (14.1-inch). The high performance notebooks are driven by quad-core processors and its maximum RAM support can go up to 16GB with 1GB of GPU power. M6400’s pricing is yet to come but the remaining will sell for $1569 and $1449 respectively.
