The much awaited 17th has arrived. And as expected, Sony Ericsson officially announced a handful of phones. out of which some of them we already know. So without further ado I’ll skim through the details. The only high end phone to be launched today was the 8.1 megapixel camera phone, C905 aka Shiho from the Cyber Shot series. Most of the things we knew but the inclusion of WiFi is an added bonus.
Next is S302 which is from the Snapshot series. The phone is targeted at first time camera phone users. And my guess is that the Snapshot series will be a smaller sibling to Cyber Shot and will pack not more than 3.2 megapixels in the future models. Anyways the phone sports all the usual features present in a SE phone and has a talk time of 7 hours. Both these phones will be available in Q4 2008.
Sony Ericsson also pulled off the curtains from F305 which is a motion sensing gaming phone. As expected, the phone will come with 3 pre loaded games while more motion-centric games will be developed by Gameloft. The battery lasts up to 8 hours. Q3 has been set for this phone to hi the retail shelves. All the three phones will support quad-band networks.
The only phones which were unknown to us were the two entry level phones, J132 and K330. The phones are aimed at users longing for a phone with minimal features. K330 has an upperhand which adds a VGA cam, WAP 2.0, Buetooth, FM Radio and Torch to the offering. On the other hand, J132 only has FM Radio built-in but has more battery juice which can run up to 9 hours. Both the phones support dual band frequency.
Other things announced were Bluetooth headsets and USB Modem which doubles up as M2 Memory Stick and microSD card reader. Read about them over here and here.
