Technical Specifications and Performance
1. Sensor and Processing Power
The X-T30 III is equipped with the back-illuminated 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor. It is paired with the X-Processor 5, which Fujifilm states offers twice the processing speed of the previous generation. This hardware combination allows for improved data handling and enhanced dynamic range in various lighting conditions.
2. Video Capabilities
A significant portion of the X-T30 III’s upgrades are focused on video production. Key technical features include:
– 6.2K/30P Open Gate: Internal recording in 4:2:2 10-bit color. The 3:2 aspect ratio utilizes the full sensor area, allowing users to crop for both horizontal cinematic formats and vertical social media ratios.
– High-Speed Recording: Supports 4K at 60P and 1080p at 240P for slow-motion requirements.
– Digital Image Stabilization: Built-in digital stabilization is included to assist with handheld camera movements.
3. Dedicated Film Simulation Dial
To streamline the workflow, Fujifilm has replaced a standard dial with a dedicated Film Simulation dial on the top plate.
Profiles: Users can access 20 distinct color profiles, including the newer “REALA ACE” and “NOSTALGIC Neg.”
Customization: The dial features three customizable slots (FS1, FS2, and FS3) where users can register specific image quality settings and “recipes” for instant recall.
4. AI-Based Subject Detection
The X-T30 III utilizes deep learning technology to enhance its autofocus system. Beyond standard face and eye detection, the AI-driven AF can automatically track:
– Animals and birds.
– Vehicles (cars, motorcycles, airplanes, and drones).
– Insects.
Design and Connectivity
The camera features a center-aligned viewfinder and a 1.62-million-dot tilting rear LCD monitor, facilitating composition from high or low angles.
For those requiring an automated workflow, the Auto Mode Selector Lever remains a core feature, allowing the camera to handle exposure settings intelligently. Additionally, the X-T30 III supports direct wireless connection to the instax Link series of smartphone printers for immediate physical output of digital frames.
