Qualcomm has announced a new mobile chipset that will bring GenAI capabilities to mid-range devices. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 will enable on-device AI features and will run more efficiently, thanks to the integration of Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU.
According to Qualcomm’s internal testing, the chipset brings 11% improved CPU performance with the new Kryo CPU, up to 29% better GPU performance with the Adreno GPU2 and overall 12% power savings for better battery life.
The application processor can support devices with having a FHD+ resolution screen with up to 144Hz refresh rate or output in 4K either in HDR10 or HDR10+ to a connected screen.
Devices powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 will also support 5G, Wi-Fi 6/6E, Bluetooth 5.4, up to 200MP camera, lossless audio, and Snapdragon Game Super Resolution mode.
