After perfecting and improving the Gorilla Glass that protects the majority of smartphone displays today, Corning has announced a new Gorilla Glass solution to protect the camera lens at the back. The originally available Gorilla Glass with DX and Gorilla Glass with DX+ have been improvised to make glass covers for smartphone cameras.
According to Corning, this new solution not only protects the camera lens from scratches that eventually degrade optical performance but the glass is capable of capturing 98% light for better and brighter pictures, which is better than the antireflective coated glass found in most smartphones.
There’s even a video highlighting the resistance and comparing it with the Sapphire Glass.
Corning has confirmed that Samsung will be the first company to adopt this tech.
