Apple Watch Series 4 can now take an ECG

Apple has kickstarted its annual iPhone event with the introduction of Apple Watch Series 4. The new Apple Watch now pushes the screen to the edges making it bigger in virtually the same size as previous generation watches. 

However, the USP of the new Series 4 is the ability to detect the user’s fall and alerting emergency contact and services and the ability to take electrocardiogram (ECG), which gets recorded in the Health app and can be shared as a PDF with doctors. 

The WatchOS 5 running Series 4 is powered by the new S4 chip dual-core 64-bit processor, and a battery life of up to 18 hours. 

Apple has not confirmed the Indian availability but Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS) in US will start at $399 with the cellular variant starting at $499. The current Series 3 will now sell at a discounted price of $279.
