Qualcomm introduces Snapdragon 700 chipset

Qualcomm today announced the 700 series Snapdragon chips for mobile devices. The 700 mobile platform series will sit in between the 600 series that caters to the low-mid range segment whereas the 800 series goes for crème de la crème. Qualcomm says the 700 series will help affordable devices to get premium features, which are generally part of the 800 series.

The Snapdragon 700 boasts on-device AI by Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence Engine delivering up to 2X improvement compared to 600 series, improved camera and general processing performance and more efficient than the 600 series.

Qualcomm will start shipping the chip sometime in first half of this year, which means devices won’t come out before Q3 2018.
