The successor to the Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro. First up, the Redmi Note 5 features a full HD display measuring 5.99-inches. The phone now features an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone is now powered by Snapdragon 625 and comes in two versions, one with 3GB/32GB and the other 4GB/64GB, much like the Redmi Note 4. The rear camera is 12-megapixel while the front features a 5-megapixel shooter with selfie-light. The finger-print sensor is at the rear. The phone is powered by 4000mAh battery and uses micro-USB for charging. Redmi Note 5 runs on MIUI 9 on Android N out-of-the-box. The available colours of the phone are Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Blue. The 3GB/32GB version of the Note 5 will retail for Rs.9,999 and the 4GB/64GB version will retail for Rs.11,999. Besides this Xiaomi now will bundle a clear case along with the phones.
The new in the line is the Redmi Note 5 Pro. An upgraded version to the Note 5, the phone features dual rear camera, 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel and a 20-megapixel front camera. The phone will also feature Face Unlock security and will be available as an OTA that will be released in March 2018. The Pro uses the same size screen of 5.99-inches, however, the processor is Snapdragon 636 and the variants that it will arrive in are 4GB/64GB and 6GB/64GB. The other features and specifications of the phone remain the same as the Redmi Note 5. The 6GB/64GB version will retail for Rs. 16,999 and the 4GB/64GB version will retail for Rs. 13,999.
