Pixel was no doubt one of the best smartphone by Google. Building upon its success, Google announced the Pixel 2 smartphones with much better camera and features than its predecessor. The Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 processor featuring 4GB RAM and storage option in the form of 64GB and 128GB. Pixel phones will also feature Always-On-Display that the first edition was missing. Running on Android Oreo, the phones also feature a security chip to reinforce your lock screen against malware and hardware attacks and Google assures to provide 3 years of security updates to the phone.

The highlight of the smartphone is once again the camera which DXOmark has rated the highest at 98. The rear camera is 12.2-megapixel and the front is 8-megapixel. The rear camera features Autofocus with laser and dual pixel phase detection, Optical and electronic image stabilization and f/1.8 aperture. The camera can also capture videos at 4K resolution. While the front camera features fixed focus and can record videos in Full HD.

The difference between the two phones is the screen size and the battery. While the Pixel 2 screen size is 5-inch and is AMOLED, the Pixel XL 2 features pOLED screen with 6-inch display size. The battery of Pixel 2 is 2700mAH and Pixel 2 XL is 3520mAh. The phone are IP67 certified and can resist water. Google has also implemented the Squeeze feature seen in HTC U11 (Google has invested in HTC) which invokes the Google Assistant.

Like Apple, this year Google as well has done away with the 3.5mm audio jack. The phone uses USB-C 3.1 port for charging and also comes with USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter. Besides this you also get a quick switch adapter for transferring data from an iOS device to Pixel 2. The Google Pixel 2 64GB variant will retail for Rs. 61,000 and Rs 71,000 for the 128GB model. The Pixel 2 XL will cost Rs. 73,000 for the 64GB variant and Rs. 82,000 for the 128GB variant.

The phones will be available online via Flipkart and other offline stores. The Pixel 2 will be available from 1 November and the Pixel 2 XL will be available from 15 November.
