BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black launched in India

BlackBerry, once a leading enterprise phone has once again been revived by Optiemus Infracom Limited, an Indian telecom enterprise with the launch of BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black. This is the first device to be manufactured by the company in India.

BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black comes with dual SIM and features a 4.5-inch screen with 1620×1080 resolution. The phone comes with a physical QWERTY keyboard. The device is powered by Snapdragon 625 2GHz octacore processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM (expandable upto 2TB). The device’s Smart Keyboard responds to touch gestures mimicking the BlackBerry trackpad making web browsing, reading emails and writing messages. This Smart Keyboard can also be easily programmed to launch up to 52 customizable shortcuts, providing even greater ease of use. In addition, BlackBerry KEYone LIMITED EDITION BLACK also offers the security of a fingerprint sensor built directly into the keyboard spacebar. The battery is 3505mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

Blackberry devices are known for security, keeping this legacy, the device comes with DTEK by Blackberry that enables users to monitor users for privacy risk. The DTEK app also tracks applications and notifies when someone is: taking pictures or videos without the user’s knowledge, turning the microphone on, sending a text message, or accessing the contacts or location. The device runs on Android 7.1. It also comes pre-installed with Blackberry Hub, a unified messaging inbox which combines emails, texts and messages from social media accounts.

With regards to the imaging capabilities, the phone features a 12-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with PDAF and 8-megapixel camera for selfie lovers.

The BlackBerry KEYone LIMITED EDITION BLACK will be available from August 8th, exclusively on Amazon India for Rs. 39,990. American Express is offering up to 4,000 bonus points, on a purchase of the device to its credit card members. On buying Blackberry KEYone LIMITED EDITION BLACK, Vodafone customers will get up to 75GB of additional data over a period of three months. This offer is valid until 30th September 2017.
