The next flagship from OnePlus, the OnePlus 5 has been launched in India today after it was launched to International Markets couple of days back. The phone design is similar to the Oppo R11 and the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. That aside, the OnePlus has created a lot of hype over the inclusion of the new dual lens cameras that the OnePlus 5 features. It is a 16-megapixel sensor with large f/1.7 and a 20-megapixel telephoto sensor. OnePlus says that the camera setup captures 34% more light as opposed to the OnePlus 3T camera.
Besides this, the phone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. The screen size of the phone is still 5.5-inch like the 3T and features 401ppi with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and full HD resolution. While the latest flagships from other manufacturers have better screen resolution and ppi, this is something that OnePlus has ignored.
The phone will come in two storage/RAM options, first with the 64GB/6GB option and the other 128GB/8GB option. The fingerprint sensor and the alert slider also finds the place in the OnePlus 5 as in the 3T.
Other features include the applauded Dash Charging that gives you 60% of battery charge in 30 mins and the USB-C port for charging. OnePlus has still kept the 3.5mm audio jack, and we believe this is pretty sensible. The battery is rated at 3300mAh and the phone comes with Android Nougat (7.1.1) out of the box.
OnePlus 5 will also be Amazon exclusive and will be available from 4.30PM today. The price of 6GB/64GB variant is Rs. 32,999 and 8GB/128GB variant will cost Rs. 37,999.
