As expected, Apple announced their new MacBook Pro notebook with a touchscreen strip that sits just above the keyboard. Dubbed Touch Bar, the touchscreen strip is not restricted to the function keys as it offers the right controls and options according to the apps users open. Additionally, TouchID also sits right beside the Touch Bar allowing Mac users to unlock the notebook as well as make purchases using Apple Pay on websites and iTunes.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is touted as the thinnest and the lightest MacBook Pro and despite the all-metal unibody construction, the 13-inch MacBook Pro measures just 14.9mm, is 17 percent thinner and 23 percent less volume than the previous generation and weighs just 1.37kg. The new 15-inch MacBook Pro on the other hand is just 15.5mm thin, 14 percent thinner and 20 percent less volume than before and weighs 1.83kg.
On the hardware side, the notebook features a 500 nits bright Retina Display, 6th gen Core i5 or i7 processors, Intel Iris or AMD Radeon Pro discrete graphics, 256GB of flash storage, up to 16GB RAM and Force Touch trackpad.
Apple has not revealed the pricing and release date for the Indian market but has confirmed that they’ll sell three variants in the coming weeks – a 13-inch variant with no Touch Bar whereas a 13-inch and a 15-inch one with the Touch Bar and improved specs.
