Xiaomi today announced the Mi Air Purifier 2 for India. Air pollution has been a common problem for cities and semi-urban areas. The Air Quality Index of the city at times deteriorates to levels that are unsafe to breathe.
The Mi Air Purifier 2 is a standalone air purifier that when plugged in purifies your home in 12 minutes as per Xiaomi. CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) is the international standard for measuring the effectiveness of air purifiers. Mi Air Purifier has been redesigned from the ground up according to aerodynamic principles to deliver high performance from a compact device. The dual-blower 4-duct circulation system effectively pumps clean air into every corner of your home (up to 400sq.ft).
With the triple-filter protection the Mi Air Purifier 2 filters our PM2.5, formaldehyde and other harmful substances. The filter lasts for 6 months and a new replacement will cost Rs.2499
The 360° cylindrical filter takes in air more efficiently from every direction compared to conventional air purifiers. It filters out over 99% of particles sized 0.3?m and larger, using a H11-grade high density HEPA filter from Japanese manufacturer Toray. An activated coconut carbon filter also removes 91% of formaldehyde (a colourless toxic gas in solution made by oxidizing methanol) and other harmful substances. Replacing the filter is simple and you will be automatically notified via the app when it needs replacing.
With your smartphone, you can use your phone as a remote to power on, power off, and switch modes. The Mi Home app also lets you monitor home air quality from your phone at any time. It recommends when to close windows or leave them open, depending on the air quality outside.
The Mi Air Purifier 2 will sell for Rs.9,999 and will be available on Mi.com from 26 September at 12 PM and on 2 October on Flipkart.
