After the success of ZenFone, ASUS this year has launched its ZenFone 3 series of smartphones. The ZenFone 3 family includes ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe, ZenFone 3 Ultra and ZenFone 3 Laser.
ZenFone 3 features 5.5-inch full HD screen featuring the scratch-resistant 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and 2650mAh battery. This is the model that will be available initially. The ZenFone 3 also features a fingerprint sensor at the rear and as per ASUS, it unlocks the phone in just 0.2 seconds.
ZenFone 3 family now sports a new camera that Asus calls PixelMaster 3.0. The rear camera is 16-megapixel with Sony IMX298 sensor, six-element Largan lens with f/2.0 aperture and subject tracking TriTech auto-focus. The exclusive TriTech auto-focus technology combines three focusing technologies — laser, phase detection and continuous contrast-detection auto-focus to achieve clear focus in 0.03 seconds. The camera also features Optical image stabiliser and electronic image stabiliser. The video can be captured at 4K resolution.
Other specifications include the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and type-C connector to charge the phone. This is a hybrid dual-SIM 4G phone. This means you can either use two SIMs or single SIM with microSD card to increase the storage. ZenFone 3 runs on Android Marshmallow with Zen UI 3.0. The ZenFone 3 will be available at the price of Rs.22,999. The ZenFone 3 also features a 5.5-inch screen version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and 3000mAh battery that will be available for Rs.28,999.
Going up the scale, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe features an all metal body and 5.5-inch screen. This is the first phone to run on Snapdragon 821 with 6GB RAM and will be available in 64GB and 256GB storage. The camera has been upped to 23-megapixels while the front camera and all other specifications remain the same as the ZenFone 3, the battery is rated at 3000mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe 64GB version will be available for Rs.50,999 and 256GB for Rs.63,999.
Next up is the large screen model, the ZenFone 3 Ultra that sports a 6.8-inch full HD screen. The Zenfone 3 Ultra is powered by Snapdragon 652 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The camera specifications are identical to the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. However, due to the screen size, the battery used here is 4600mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The Ultra also supports power bank mode for reverse charging.
For the budget buyers, the ZenFone 3 Laser is the answer. It features 5.5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 430 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, fingerprint sensor, hybrid dual SIM slot and 3000mAh battery. ZenFone 3 Laser features the same PixelMaster camera with 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front selfie camera. ZenFone 3 Laser is priced at Rs.18,999.
