SanDisk, which is now a brand under Western Digital, has announced 256GB microSD card, targeted at mobile device consumers. The SanDisk Extreme and SanDisk Ultra will allow consumers to expand the storage of their mobile device, enabling them to capture professional-grade videos and images.
In addition to giving humongous storage, the Extreme edition card offers a read speed of up to 100MB/s and a write speed of up to 90MB/s whereas the Premium Edition goes up to 95MB/s.
The cards are also waterproof, temperature-proof, shock proof, and X-ray proof and come with SanDisk Memory Zone app for Android.
The cards go on sale in August globally with the US price set at $149.99 for the Premium edition and $199.99 for Extreme edition.
