Omega Globemaster can withstand strong magnetic fields for accurate time

Swiss watchmaker Omega has announced a new premium watch, the Globemaster. The watch’s selling point is not the brand name but the fact that it can withstand strong magnetic fields that can have a long-term effect on mechanical watches with regards to its accurate timekeeping. The Globemaster, in fact, can withstand a magnetic force of 15,000 Gauss, earning a certification from Swiss Federal Institute of Meteorology – METAS and another certification by COSC its precision.

The world’s first master chronometer was put through series of 8 tests over 10 days where the watch went through simulated real-life conditions, including 6 different wearing positions and contrasting power reserve.
