At a press event today, Apple announced an upgrade of its last year’s iPhones. Dubbed iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Apple claims the only thing they changed with the new iPhones is everything and though we’ll stay away from their marketing speak, Apple has brought quite a few changes to the devices. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus now feature 3D Touch that brings in force detection to the regular multi-touch functionality. The phones sense pressure on the screen to enable new gestures like Peek and Pop to reveal more content.
Furthermore, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are crafted out of airplane-grade 7000 series aluminium with a strong cover glass for enhanced durability; 3rd-gen 64-bit A9 processor that is 70 percent faster than the A8; Advanced LTE support with 23 bands and faster Wi-Fi.
Apple has also improved the camera, which now features a 12 megapixel on the rear and a 5 megapixel on the front with the retina display doubling up as a flash. The camera can now shoot videos in 4K resolution and are capable of capturing Live Photos that shows few secs of an actual image in motion.
The iPhones will go on sale from September 25 at the same price of last year’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with pre-orders starting from September 12.
The first wave of countries that will get the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK and the US.
