Intel today made its 6th generation of Core processors official based on Skylake architecture. Termed as “company’s best processors, ever,” the new processors deliver enhanced performance with low power consumption and support variety of PC designs.

Built on Skylake architecture, the new processors take advantage of 14nm fabrication process and deliver up to 2.5 times better performance, three times the battery life and 30 times better graphics compared to a 5-year-old PC.

The new 6th Gen Intel Core processor family is designed for different devices and need. The Intel Core M processors offers twice the performance of leading premium tablets and includes brand levels like Intel Core m3, m5 and m7 processors to provide people with more clarity and choice in finding the Intel Core M processor-based device that best meets their specific needs. The Intel® Compute Stick lineup expands to include a version powered by the 6th Gen Intel Core M processor.

Intel has also added a mobile “K” SKU that signifies the processor is unlocked and gives modders more control.

Additionally, the processors support improved 4K content creation and playback, Thunderbolt 3 for USB Type-C and improved wireless display support with Intel WiDi or Pro WiDi.

The 6th Gen Intel Core processor family is also optimised for Windows 10 features like Cortana and Windows Hello, which when paired with Intel’s RealSense Camera, the PC will allow to securely log in using facial recognition.
