Samsung’s 5.9mm Galaxy A8 now official

Samsung yesterday announced its latest Galaxy smartphone and boy, it’s a looker! The phone is just 5.9mm on the thinnest side and boasts good looks from Galaxy S6 with a thin bezel design. On the hardware side, the Galaxy A8 comes with a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 2GB RAM, Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 16 megapixel rear facing camera, 5 megapixel front-facing camera, fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE support, Dual SIM support, 16 or 32GB internal memory and microSD card slot.

The phone will run Android 5.1 out of the box and will have Samsung apps and services pre-loaded along with apps from other content partners.

The Galaxy A8 will be restricted to China for now but expect the phone to go on sale soon in other markets.
