At a multi-city event, LG announced their latest flagship phone, G4. Taking over from last year’s G3, the G4 has improved on all fronts, including design and performance. The G4 now comes in handcrafted, genuine full grain leather in six colour options (Black, Brown, Red, Sky Blue, Beige, Yellow). However, if leather is something you think you want to avoid, G4 also comes with ceramic covers in colour options of Metallic Gray, Ceramic White, Shiny Gold.
Moreover, the G4 adopts a Slim Arc design that claims to offer 20 percent better durability and grip compared to a flat smartphone.
Moving onto performance, G4 goes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 processor with X10 LTE support and 3GB LPDDR3 RAM. Additionally, it has a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS Quantum Display (2560×1440) that offers 20 percent greater colour reproduction, 25 percent improvement in brightness and 50 percent greater contrast.
Rounding up the specs are Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 32GB internal memory, microSD card slot, 3000mAh removable battery and 16 megapixel f/1.8 camera with a front-facing 8 megapixel one. The camera also gains manual mode for users to give more control over the shot, RAW image support, Quick Shot to quickly capture an image and Gesture Interval shot.
LG G4 runs Android 5.1 with “human-centric” UX 4.0 that claims “to be simpler and more intuitive” and will also bundle 100GB of Google Drive storage free for two years.
LG G4’s rollout starts from today in South Korea followed by different markets on over 180 carriers globally.
