LG’s current range of smartwatches in India consists only of the G Watch but at the LG Tech Show, LG confirmed to expand its offerings soon with the LG Watch Urbane. LG is apparently skipping the G Watch R for the LG Watch Urbane that brings in the style you expect from a wrist watch and smart features from Android Wear.
Targeted at both men and women, LG Watch Urbane features a full metal design with a circular dial and a 1.3-inch full circle P-OLED display. The strap is made of leather but given the 22m width of the band, LG makes customisation of bands easier with aftermarket bands.
The LG Watch Urbane is IP67 certified, making it dust and water resistant and features a Qualcomm 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 4GB internal memory, 512MB RAM, heart rate sensor, barometer, compass and 410mAh battery.
Having played with the gold coloured watch briefly, the watch is really a step up from the current Android Wear lot available in the market. The watch supports multiple watch faces, voice commands and even has an always-on ambient mode to show the time on the display all the time.
LG expects to release the smartwatch sometime in April or May.
