With the demand being steady for Zenfone devices in India, Asus has announced the new Zenfone C in the Indian market. The Zenfone C replaces the Zenfone 4 and retails at an entry-level price of Rs. 5,999. The Zenfone family is powered by Intel’s range of processors and the Zenfone C is no different. The phone is powered by Intel’s 1.2GHz Z2520 Clovertrail processor and is coupled with 1GB RAM.
As far as other features concerned, the Zenfone C features a 4.5-inch display with FWVGA 854×480 pixels resolution support and runs Android 4.4 with Zen UI. Furthermore, the Zenfone C boasts 8GB internal storage with microSD card slot support, 2100mAh battery and 5 megapixel main camera with PixelMaster technology.
We played with the device briefly and must say the phone is quite responsive, thanks to the Intel chip and 1GB RAM. The size is decent that makes one-handed operation easy and offers a good grip on the device due to matte finish at the back.
Moving to the software side of Zenfone C, the phone runs customised layer of Zen UI over Android 4.4. If you’ve used a Zenfone previously, you’ll notice some revamped elements in the Zen UI and has been broken down into separate apps, which means Asus can individually update the Zen UI elements without having to release a single firmware update with all the changes.
Asus is known to give same features across all price points, which is why you’ll also see PixelMaster technology even in Zenfone C. The 5 megapixel snapper along with PixelMaster helps to improve low-light photos and comes with various camera modes to spruce up the image.
Zenfone C is now available on Flipkart.
