Samsung is expected to announce their new Galaxy S flagship in March and if Bloomberg’s sources are to be believed, Samsung will drop Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip from its Galaxy S6. According to their source, Samsung has been testing the Galaxy S6 with Snapdragon 810 and have found the chip to overheat compared to Samsung’s own Exynos range of chips.
Samsung has regularly adopted dual chip strategy with respect to the Galaxy S range with Qualcomm Snapdragon selling in some markets whereas Samsung’s Exynos in some.
Samsung and Qualcomm have expectedly declined to comment on the report but interestingly, LG’s VP for mobile product planning has rubbished the claim and confirms the performance to be “quite satisfactory”.
LG uses the Snapdragon 810 chip on its G Flex 2 that was announced at the CES earlier this month.
