Redmi 1S is the cheapest and one of the highest selling smartphones from Xiaomi. The Chinese smartphone maker has now announced the successor – Redmi 2 that improves on a few things and lowers the asking price as well. Design-wise, the Redmi 2 looks similar to the Redmi 1S and the biggest change is the Dual-SIM 4G LTE FDD/TDD support and uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core processor.
The battery has also got a bump, which now stands at 2200mAh capacity and features MIUI 6, 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory with up to 32GB microSD card slot, 8 megapixel and front-facing 2 megapixel camera and choice of five colour options.
The phone will be released first in China at a price of 699RMB that comes to about ~$112.
