Kodak is seeking a re-entry in the hardware business and it will be a smartphone under its own brand. The device and the complete range will be manufactured by Bullitt Group but Kodak will offer its “best-in-class” image management software and features along with unique design and UI. Kodak isn’t revealing anything about the device except that it run Android OS and will be targeted at users who want to use “less complicated” devices with pre-loaded bespoke image capture, management and sharing features. Kodak mobile devices will also come with advanced remote management software to troubleshoot users remotely.
Kodak will reveal the first device at CES next month followed by a 4G-enabled phone, tablet and a connected camera sometime in first half of 2015.
