Earlier this year, Lenovo announced to take over Motorola from Google in a bid to establish its stronghold in the smartphone market globally. Today, Motorola is officially a Lenovo company as the Chinese giant has completed the transaction.
The acquisition does not change any thing for Motorola, at least for the time being. Motorola has confirmed that it will be operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary with headquarters in the US and will continue to bring out devices just like before.
In Lenovo we have a partner that shares our mission and that brings global scale, a diverse product portfolio and a track record of seizing strategic opportunities and making the most of them. Together we will go farther, faster. With an impressive portfolio of smartphones, wearables and PCs, our two companies will be uniquely positioned to push the boundaries of choice and value, and bring exciting new experiences to people everywhere.
