Lava announces Iris Fuel 50 phone with 3000mAh battery

Lava today announced its new smartphone series – Fuel under the Iris sub brand. The series’ USP is its long battery backup and the first device, Iris Fuel 50 sports a 3000mAh battery. Priced at just Rs. 7,799, the Iris Fuel 50 claims to power the device for almost a day and a half and bring in a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, dual SIM connectivity, 8 megapixel autofocus camera with 2 megapixel on the front and 5-inch FWVGA IPS display with scratch resistant Dragon-trail glass.

The Iris Fuel 50 runs Android 4.4 and supports gestures like double tap to wake, write letters to open up apps and more.
