Over the weekend, Samsung announced the Galaxy Alpha for the Indian market. The LTE-ready 6.7mm thin device will be available in India from next week carrying a price tag of Rs. 39,990. The phone also features a metal frame and a soft touch back for a premium feel and look.
On the hardware side, the Galaxy Alpha comes with an Exynos 5 Octa processor (1.8GHz quad + 1.3GHz quad), 2GB RAM, 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED Display (720p), 12 megapixel camera with front-facing 2.1 megapixel camera, 32GB internal memory and 1860mAh battery. Do note, the Galaxy Alpha does not have a memory expansion slot.
The Galaxy Alpha runs the latest Android KitKat update and supports Ultra Power Saving Mode, S Health, heart rate sensor and a fingerprint sensor.
Galaxy Alpha consumers in India will also get free data from Airtel for two months.
