Sony has been expanding its flagship devices lineup at a brisk pace and at the pre-IFA press conference, they announced the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact smartphones. Sony has managed to make the Xperia Z3 slimmer, which now stands at 7.3mm and has an aluminium frame with durable tempered glass panel that gives the much needed durability with the looks.
Interestingly, the flagships of competitors are going with Snapdragon 805 but Sony is keeping the Xperia Z3 with Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz quad-core processor and 3GB RAM. Display-wise, there’s a 5.2-inch Full HD Triluminos display and features IP65/68 rating, 20.7 megapixel camera, 2.2 megapixel front-facing camera, 4K video recording support, 16GB internal memory, microSD card slot up to 128GB and 3100mAh battery.
The Xperia Z3 Compact is similar to its larger-sized sibling as far as processor and camera prowess goes but adopts a smaller 4.6-inch 720p HD display, 2GB RAM and 2600mAh battery.
Both smartphones also support PS4 Remote Play that allows users to use these devices as a remote screen to play games on the PS4.
Both devices will be available later this year.
