Samsung today expanded the Galaxy Note lineup with two new additions – the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 4 and an interesting new device Galaxy Note Edge. Needless to say, Samsung has worked on the design, hardware and software of the new Galaxy Note devices.
The Galaxy Note 4 now boasts a metal frame just like the Galaxy Alpha along with a soft-textured back. Hardware-wise, the Galaxy Note 4 has upped the ante with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display (2560×1440), LTE-A support and Exynos Octa-core or Snapdragon 805 2.7GHz processor along with 3GB RAM.
The camera on the Galaxy Note 4 is a 16 megapixel one that also supports Smart Optical Image Stabilizer whereas there’s a 3.7 megapixel front-facing camera with f1.9 offering a 90 degree default angle or 120 degree for wide selfies.
Additionally, the phone now has a UV sensor, heart rate sensor, fingerprint sensor, barometer, Ultra Power Saving Mode, improved S Pen input with better handwriting recognition, 32GB internal memory, microSD card slot and 3220mAh battery with fast charging capability.
The Galaxy Note Edge is similar in specs to the Galaxy Note 4 but distinguishes itself with an edge screen that gives quick access to notifications, apps and more. The Galaxy Note Edge will come only with Snapdragon 805 processor, 32GB or 64GB internal memory, 3000mAh battery and tad smaller 5.6-inch display with the same Quad HD resolution.
Samsung hasn’t revealed the price but the Galaxy Note 4 will be available in Charcoal Black, Frost White, Bronze Gold and Blossom Pink in October and the Galaxy Note Edge will be available in Charcoal Black and Frost White in select markets later this year.
