As India rushed to buy Xiaomi’s Mi 3 earlier today, the Chinese company was busy unveiling its successor – the Mi 4 at an event in China. The Mi 4 looks like an incremental update to the Mi 3 with a slight bump in specs but a new design. The phone improves on the predecessor with a new design and build that sports a stainless steel frame for improved durability.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 2.5GHz quad-core chipset along with 3GB RAM. The display size and resolution is same as Mi 3 but the 5-inch Full HD IPS panel boasts a high colour gamut. Additionally, it comes with a 13 megapixel camera with f1.8 aperture, real-time HDR and 4K video recording support, an 8 megapixel front-facing camera, 3080mAh battery with fast charging support and interchangeable back plates.
Xiaomi will sell the 16GB for $320 while the 64GB will go for $400. Xiaomi will also sell display and water accident insurance for $16 more.
