Microsoft, HP and Pearson have come together in India to launch a Windows-based tablet with educational content pre-loaded by Pearson. Making the first educational bundle for Microsoft, the bundle comprises of HP Omni 10 tablet pre-loaded with first semester Pearson study material as well as a whole slew of Microsoft offerings, which includes 10 e-books on developer tools, access to various Microsoft developer tools and servers through the DreamSpark student site, single sign-on student mail IDs, 50GB email storage and 25 GB OneDrivePro, Microsoft Certification MTA voucher for students to walk in to any Certi-Port authorised center and take the Microsoft Certification Exam.
As far as HP Omni 10’s features are concerned, the tablet runs Windows 8.1 and comes with 10.1-inch HD display, Intel’s Atom Z3770 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, HDMI port and up to 64GB of storage space.
The tablet is now available in all ‘technical and management institutes’ at an EMI plan of Rs. 2,990 per month for 12 months (taxes extra) till 15th June, 2014.
