Chinese mobile phone manufacturers are sprucing up the competition in the Indian market. After Gionee and Lenovo, Oppo is another Chinese brand that wants a piece of the burgeoning Indian smartphone market.
Oppo announced its arrival today with the announcement of Oppo N1 handset that was announced in China last year.
N1’s claim to fame is its 206-degree swiveling 13 megapixel camera that boasts some “cutting edge optics” with a 1/3.06 imaging sensor and f/2.0 wide aperture. The phone also features dual flash design for improved low light pictures.
Oppo N1 has an O-Touch at the back, which is a rear touch panel that can be used for scrolling and runs ColorOS based on Android 4.2 OS. Hardware-wise, the Oppo N1 features 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 5.9-inch Full HD display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 16GB internal memory and 3610mAh battery.
Oppo also has a Cyanogenmod N1 variant but there’s no information as to when can we expect that in the Indian market.
Oppo has priced the N1 for Rs. 39,999 but we feel it will be a difficult task for a new player to sell its product at this price, which is dominated by top mobile phone companies like Samsung, Apple and few others.
