iPad Air releasing in India on December 7 [Updated]

UPDATE: Ingram Micro has confirmed the pricing as well as the availability of the iPad mini with Retina Display. iPad Air (16GB Wi-Fi) will be available in silver or space grey at Rs. 35,900 and the iPad mini with Retina Display (16GB Wi-Fi) will go for Rs 28,900.

Apple distributors – Redington and Ingram Micro have confirmed the launch of the latest iPad for the Indian market. iPad Air will be available in India from December 7 with the simultaneous launch events expected in New Delhi and Mumbai. Just like the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5s launch few weeks back, they’re relying on the invite system to allow interested customers buy the latest tablet from the flagship stores.

There’s no word on the exact price but is said to be one of the lightest and thinnest iPads around with just 7.5mm in thickness and weighing around 480g. Specs-wise, the tablet is powered by Apple’s A7 64-bit processor along with M7 motion coprocessor, features a 9.7-inch IPS display with 2048×1536 resolution support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G support, 1.2MP front-facing FaceTime camera, 5MP back-facing iSight camera and up to 10 hours of battery life.
