Android device makers – more famously Samsung – have been called out for boosting their CPU and GPU’s clock speed temporarily to achieve better benchmark scores. To combat such moves, Futuremark who publishes the 3DMark benchmark app for Android devices have announced to delist some devices that don’t adhere to their rules.
Futuremark says “a device must run our benchmarks without modification as if they were any other application” but since they’ve found some devices like the HTC One, One mini, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition to circumvent their guideline, the benchmark company has decided to delist these devices.
Delisting of devices means these aforementioned devices will be unranked without any score and will appear at the bottom of the device table.
