There’s no surprise that there’s some amount of excitement to see Samsung’s take on the smartwatch. Yesterday, Venture Beat managed to get their hands on a Galaxy Gear prototype device and published some pictures of the same. The design comes off as unimaginative and unattractive but a report by GigaOM claims the design is not final and the final watch will look “different and more finished product.”
As for the features, the Galaxy Gear is rumoured to be powered by Android 4.3 and feature a 2.5-inch or 3-inch AMOLED screen, app support, 1.5GHz dual-core Exynos 4212 processor, built-in camera, mic and speakers, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC and a battery life of up to 24 hours but reduces up to 10 hours with more active usage.
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Gear smartwatch on September 4.
