Opera today released the final version of its desktop browser running the new Chromium engine. The browser is now available on Windows and Mac and brings in a new look with faster performance.
The browser now boasts a cleaner look and perhaps the biggest change is under the hood that is now powered by the Chromium engine and not Presto, which Opera originally used. Furthermore, the new Opera brings in a revamped Speed Dial with the option to group them by topics or categories. The Speed Dial is also complemented with two new buttons – Stash which is an easy way to bookmark a particular site for you to visit afterwards and Discover for what’s trending right now. Finally, it’s the Off-Road mode which is rebadged Opera Turbo but now it works automatically when it detects a sluggish connection.
