Qualcomm has a good vertically segregated Snapdragon SoC lineup but now the chip maker is horizontally expanding the range, at least in the Snapdragon 200 range. Today, they’ve introduced six new Snapdragon 200 processors, ranging from dual-core to quad-core for China and other emerging markets.
The CPUs are fabricated using 28nm process technology and come with support for 21Mbps HSPA+, TD-SCDMA and Single/Dual/Triple SIM. Additionally, the processors support dual cameras – up to 8 megapixel at the back and 5 megapixel on the front, Adreno 302 CPU, Qualcomm Quick Charge 1.0 and support for Android, Windows Mobile and Firefox mobile OSes.
Qualcomm will also release Qualcomm Reference Design (QRD) versions of the processors that allow manufacturers to bring their own branded devices faster to the market.
