Sony has scheduled a PlayStation-centric ‘See the future’ event on Feb 20 in the United States. They’ve also posted a teaser video but as you’d expect, the video does not give an iota of hint on what the event will unveil.
However, according to a Wall Street Journal report, Sony will reveal the sucessor of PS3 console at the event with retail sales expected later this year. The report also mentions that the new PlayStation will keep the optical disc drive opposed to a disc-less PlayStation that was rumoured previously. Additionally, the new PS will boast some social gaming aspects, making gamers interact more with the console.
If Sony announces a new console, it will give a head start to the Japanese company against Microsoft who is also expected to reveal their new Xbox console later this year at E3.
