A new report by CENS claims that Asus has reportedly joined hands with VIA Technologies to produce affordable tablets. The tablets are meant for the Chinese market and will be priced in between $99 to $149 with a SoC based on ARM Cortex-A9 by VIA.
Asus’ sells Nexus 7 at a low price but is not available officially in China. The low price tag of the new tablet could also be to compete in the Chinese market that have tablets starting from as low as $49. Wistron Corp. is allegedly roped in to manufacture the tablets with an initial shipment of 2-3 million units.
